The first section of this book was nice, though most of that information could be in any connection based parenting book. The “rituals” which were the reason I purchased the book were disappointing. They’re really more like games than rituals and most didn’t really lend themselves to repetition at the same time everyday or at specific times as you would an actual ritual. If you’re looking for regular things to do with your kid(s) everyday to foster connection such as for good morning or before bed as I was, I would not recommend this book. If you have trouble relating to your kids at all, or finding ways to just play with them, this book might give you some ideas.

I like reading this book to give me ideas on how to connect with my 2 year old. A lot of the ideas are too old for him, but can be modified to fit his age (although they don't tell you how).

The name says it all!!! Looking for an alternative to typical, everyday, traditional discipline methods? Nothing works when it comes to reaching your child or those in your classroom? Maybe you are looking for new ways to create a positive community or family setting in your classroom or school. Look no further! Conscious Discipline is the way to go! Start with this book to get ideas for fun and loving rituals that support positive behaviors, and throw those old methods out the door!!!

I love all the examples in this book. Only the first 1/3 is the how/why and the last 2/3 of the book is all examples of I love you rituals and how to do them! It's fantastic.

So far, I have read the intro to this book and it is amazing. I recently took a class in which the instructor referred to this book in working with students with visual impairments and autism. My professor emphasized the relationship development aspect of communication. This book gives great ideas for fostering relationships with all children (I learned about some of them from my professor). One thing I really got out of this is that when we bring ritual into our interactions with our loved ones, we show them that we have time for them and that we want to be "in the moment" with them. A very important message for everyone, and especially in this day and age.

Excellent book. Specific practical age-appropriate ways, little routines, to convey how significant & valued are those young ones in our life. Can be adapted & applied to any age. Clearly written, & obviously by someone who knows & has experienced her subject material.

Love this - have used it as a preschool classroom teacher and now use it as a speech therapist when I have kiddos that have a hard time with establishing routines, or to share with parents who are having a hard time establishing bonding routines.

Dr Becky Bailey always hits top marks for me. As a teacher I adapt some of these rituals for the classroom. The children play and sing these activities together, sometimes in pairs. This is a must for every parent with young children. Also the conscious discipline website it has lots of great ideas, free resources, other book suggestions, and videos to support you and your child.

The Maddie Diaries by Maddie Ziegler was a great book! I really enjoyed reading all about her and the photos in the middle of the book were super fun to look through! I totally recommend this book!

My granddaughter read it in one day. So I guess it was pretty good.

Came on time in great condition and what a great informative and fast read. Very enjoyable.

This book is a very well written book, that’s why I hardly believe that this was written by Maddie herself. I mean, she kept on talking about how humble she is and how amazing and sweet and kind she is. She also talks about how encouraging she is. This doesn’t sound like HER. I’ve been watching Dance Mom’s for years and it doesn’t sound like she wrote it. And the way she talked about her sister!!!!! If she’s so humble, she wouldn’t talk about her sister like that! And the Kenzie section, doesn’t sound like Kenzie wrote it at all!!!-Lila (11 years old)

This is a cute book with a positive spin for young girls and tweens. However, it doesn't tackle what we all want to know, namely anything about Abby Lee Miller herself or her long-lost friendships with Chloe Lukasiak and the Hyland girls. In the meantime, you'll have to settle for Sia and fashion tips.

I bought this book for my granddaughter. She was so thrilled to receive the book. It is a good read!
