This is a really good story about redemption, despite how far a person falls. I especially loved the main character's internal conflict between choosing right and wrong. It seemed like a modern day story of Jonah of the Old Testament, who tried to run from his duty but found that his situation would only get worse, then would turn to make the correct decision after much tribulation. That is what I enjoyed the most.

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the story of Jonah come to life in an unexpected way. The story flowed well, and I immediately thought about Jonah when Rory took off in the opposite direction that he was supposed to go. Of course, the title gives that away, but I liked the modern version of the beloved biblical story. It had some James Bond overtones, especially when trying to foil the nuclear weapon plot, and I found myself cheering for Rory throughout the story. I'm glad I took the time to read the novel. J.W. Who would have thought to take a story from the Bible and ingeniously weave it into an exciting piece of fiction? Michele does just that in her latest novel The Runaway Prophet as she tells an interesting story that keeps the reader entertained and engaged from start to finish.

The Runaway Prophet takes the story of Jonah into modern day twists and turns. The author does a nice job of weaving in the lessons from Jonah in a way that the reader absorbs them without realizing it.

Wow!! Michele Chynoweth has done it a third time now!! “The Runaway Prophet” is entirely different from the “The Faithful One” and “The Peace Maker.” I loved all three and had recommended them to a lot of my friends and family.“The Runaway Prophet” is definitely a book that you can get really involved with because it takes place in today’s time and with today’s current events. I found myself saying “Oh my God” I never knew that about Las Vegas and a lot of other things that Michele includes in the book. I also really like the way Michele integrates God’s word throughout the book where most of us can relate and understand. I am just so impressed with Michele’s knowledge and creativity in her book. “The Runaway Prophet” is a must read.

A fast paced adventure that tests one man's faith. Reminded me of a David Baldacci with a twist of spirituality. May be a little racy for some conservatives. Showed great tolerance for all races, religions, and walks of life. All people are entitled to express their love and sexuality in a committed relationship.

Michele has done it again--told a biblical story through modern day characters that captivates the reader. Very inspirational. Highly recommend!

This is easily the go-to pasta recipe encyclopedia for just about every pasta dish ever. They are the definitive recipes and are as authentic as possible. I wish it went into a little more detail on the technique of making pasta and how to sauce a dish properly, but it is still a wonderful book with great recipes and is probably the best pasta cookbook to come out in the last decade or two. There's also a wonderful section on how to stock your pantry with good ingredients that is itself worth the price of the book. If you have even a general liking for making pasta at home you should own this book.

This is a book you have to READ not just grab recipes from. I LOVE this book. If you want to learn about Italians' idea of pasta this it the book for you. It's not about the shapes or the sauces but a philosophy of flavor that can teach things to be used in anything you cook. These women have opinions and they state them without being snarky or condescending. I've learned a whole new way of thinking about what I cook. Very glad I bought it.

I have appreciated other works by Ms. De Vita, including her monumental Encyclopedia of Pasta, which is a masterful but rather scholarly work. This book is in a rather different spirit, engaging in the popular sense but still educational, and it includes recipes, but also information on how pasta is to be eaten and enjoyed in America, as closely as possible to how one eats in Italy. Everything from matching sauces, serving order, whether to serve with cheese, and the proper technique to twirl noodles around a fork is discussed in detail.

I love cooking Italian sauces but I decided I needed to understand more about the selection of pasta shapes to accompany the sauces. This has become my reference book on the subject of pasta stye selection and it has some good sauce recommendations to go along with the pasta styles. I have read many books about Italian cooking but his book references sauces that are very different from those I have found in other cook books.If you are cooking Italian for Italian guests, you will look like a pro if you use this book.

got this as a gift for an Italian friend who loves to cook for friends - she thought it was great! she opened it by accident to one of her favorite family recipes - a great choice for a reader who is also a foodie -

All of the photographs are at the end, so this book tells more than shows. However, the breadth of material covered is broad, the tone is intimate and chatty.

One of my favorite Italian cookbooks. Clear and written with obvious expertise. A standout in a crowded field.

Having traveled in Italy a good deal, I have been quite aware of the difference between the sauses and pastas there and what are presented as Italian sauses in this country. This is a wonderful book in recipes and cooking processes that take you into the Italian way. The several I have tried are delicious and authentic.
