This is a very poorly organized book with absolutely nothing off the beaten path unless you are on a bike! The author writes it as if it is his personal journal and not with facts or much depth. Not even a mention of the Capital tours (where HE was a reporter for so long) which is a must if you get to Madison! He mentions the first Ice Cream Sundae in Two Rivers, but does not mention the site to visit for the first one made. Or how about the Hamilton MFG museum just blocks from there which is much more off the beaten path than the huge Maritime museum a few miles away. (Both are well worth a trip). Kohler is mentioned, but more from the resort side and no mention of the awesome tour that Kohler does thru its factory. Anyone who reads trip advisor could have written this book. It is obvious where the author has actually visited as he gets very descriptive and insightful as to HIS thoughts there. A seperate book could be written for his description of bike trails for the bike enthusiast. But for the non long distance bike enthusiast, just not very helpful for any unadvertised paths which you expect if you are trying to get "off the beaten path". Was very disappointed.
